Tree work you can count on
A note from David
Who you’re dealing with. I’ve been doing tree work here in San Antonio since 2000. Hill Country Oaks Tree Service is locally owned, licensed and insured, and the crews you’ll see in your yard are my crews.
The right crew for the tree. We’ve got climbers for the backyard trees a truck can’t reach and a bucket truck for limbs over roofs and streets. Our crane-capable crews take on big trees hanging over houses and pools. When the work’s done, our dump trailers haul the brush and wood away.
Every call gets answered. You can call (210) 538‑6533 any hour, 24/7. Sarah, our bilingual receptionist, answers in English or Spanish, takes down what’s going on with your tree and gets the job to me.
Estimates are free. They’re done from photos, which is the quickest way to get one started.
If a tree at your place has you wondering, call or send photos.
Sincerely,
David

Did you know?
A tree crew’s bucket truck still gets called a cherry picker, and it’s an honest name. Lifts like it were first built to help pick cherries.

Get to know the crew
Before you let a tree crew into your yard, you’ll want to know who runs it, what equipment shows up and whether it’s insured. If your question isn’t below, call (210) 538‑6533.
David runs the crews, and he’s been doing tree work in San Antonio since 2000. Calls to Hill Country Oaks Tree Service go to Sarah, our bilingual receptionist, who answers every call 24/7. She passes each job to David through 3 Minute Business.
Yes. Hill Country Oaks Tree Service is locally owned. Our base is on the north side, right next to Hill Country Village, and David’s crews work trees all over San Antonio.
That’s set by the tree and what’s under it. Hill Country Oaks Tree Service crews work with climbers, a bucket truck, heavy equipment, crane-capable rigging for big removals and dump trailers for the haul-off. On acreage, a mulcher head grinds cedar and brush in place. Your free photo estimate spells out which of these your job needs.
A climber goes up the tree on ropes and a saddle and takes it down in sections from the top. Each piece is tied off and lowered on a rigging line, so nothing free-falls onto the roof or the fence. When a yard has no room for a bucket truck, the climber does the whole job from inside the tree.
A bucket truck lifts a crew member up to the limbs on a boom, so cuts get made from a steady platform. It’s the quick way to clear limbs over a street, a driveway or a roof when the truck can park close. Hill Country Oaks Tree Service runs one on trimming jobs where north side oaks hang over the curb.
It means the crew can handle crane tree removal, cutting a tree into sections that a crane lifts out over the house one at a time. A climber, the ground crew and the crane operator all work the same tree, so everyone has to know their part before the first cut. It’s how a big tree over a roof or a pool comes down with nothing dropped.
Because a tree job can damage your property, and the company’s insurance is what pays for that. A falling limb, a trunk section or a piece of equipment can land on a roof, a car or a fence. Hill Country Oaks Tree Service is licensed and insured.
Mostly live oaks, plus red oaks, pecans, cedar elms and hackberries. The older half-acre lots in Hill Country Village carry big live oak canopy. Where the soil runs thin over limestone, Ashe juniper takes over. Oaks get the most care, because a fresh cut made between February and June can let oak wilt in.
Yes. Hill Country Oaks Tree Service does tree trimming, takedowns through our tree removal service and stump grinding, so one call covers the whole tree. Send photos of each tree and stump you want handled, and they can all go on one estimate.
Yes. A lot of north side subdivisions sit under a property owners association, and each one can set its own architectural rules. Tell us your association when you call, and check whether it wants a request filed before a tree comes down. Before anything’s cut, we run a permit check on your address too.
