Tree work you can count on
Tree on the house, the car or the line?
Our emergency tree service in San Antonio gets a fallen tree off your house, car or driveway, and we answer every call, day or night. If a tree or big limb just came down, call (210) 538‑6533 now and stay clear of anything touching a power line. You don’t need to know yet whether it’s a crane job or a chainsaw job.
Some downed trees can wait, like a limb across the back lawn after straight-line winds. That one gets in line for a free photo estimate, like any other job. A tree on the roof, on a car or across the only driveway can’t wait, and neither can one that’s leaning harder by the hour.
Waiting has a cost of its own. Rain gets in under a punctured roof, and a cracked trunk can let go the rest of the way. Limbs that look settled can roll when someone starts cutting, too. Please don’t climb up or start a saw under a loaded tree, because that’s the work our crews are rigged for.
Call right away if you see
- A tree on roof, car or fence
- Limbs tangled in a power line
- A tree blocking the only driveway
- A fresh lean with soil lifting at the base
- A cracked trunk that’s still hanging
- Downed limbs blocking a door or gate
What to photograph from a safe spot
- The whole tree and where it landed
- Damage to the roof, car or fence
- Any line the tree is touching
- The base of the trunk and any lifted roots
- The way in for a truck and trailer
- Wide shots from well back, never under it
Storm damage on the North Side, step by step
The July 15, 2026 tornado near UTSA and Camp Bullis put trees down across northwest San Antonio. North side storms don’t wait for business hours, and a tree on the house gets the same steps whenever it lands.
Call and stay clear
Call (210) 538‑6533, day or night. We answer every call, and our 24/7 response starts with keeping everyone away from the tree until a crew’s there to take over.
Lines go to CPS first
If anything’s touching a power line, CPS Energy has to deal with the line before any saw comes near it. Trees that block a street or threaten public safety are a 311 call for the City, and the one on your house is ours.
Weight off the house
The crew cuts the tree off the roof or car in pieces. Climbers, the bucket truck or crane-capable crews handle the weight that’s too much to cut in place. The point is to lift weight away from the damage, never drop more onto it.
Leaning trees on limestone
On the north side, thin soil over limestone keeps roots wide and shallow, so a soaked, wind-loaded tree can tip at the root plate. A lean that’s new since the storm, with soil lifted at the base, gets handled first.
Secure the site and haul off
Once the urgent piece is done, the site’s made safe and the downed limbs and brush go out in our dump trailers. If you’ll be talking to your insurance company, take photos before and after the work.
Did you know?
After the July 15, 2026 tornado in northwest San Antonio, the City removed 57 trees from the affected areas that week. Of those, 34 came out on the day of the storm alone.
FAQs about emergency tree service in San Antonio
When it can’t wait
Emergency work is the urgent end of our tree service, and the same crews handle the cleanup once the danger’s gone. If you’re not sure it’s an emergency, call (210) 538‑6533 and ask.
Get everyone out of the rooms under the tree, and stay out if you see cracked ceilings or hear the structure shifting. Keep clear of any wires the tree took down and call CPS Energy if a line is involved. Then call Hill Country Oaks Tree Service at (210) 538‑6533, day or night, and we’ll get the weight off the roof safely.
Yes. Hill Country Oaks Tree Service is open 24/7, and we answer every call, including storm nights and holidays. We respond fast, and we’ll send a crew with the equipment the job needs.
Emergency work is priced on what the tree’s resting on and how big it is. A crane or rigging to lift it off safely changes it, and so does how much gets cut free now versus hauled off later. You’ll get the price before the crew starts, and a few photos sent ahead make that faster.
Yes. A trunk lying on a fence gets cut away in pieces, so the weight comes off without pulling more panels down. The fence repair is a job for your fence builder, and the yard’s left clear for them. Send a photo from each side if you can get there safely.
Yes. A tree across a parking lot, a common area or an entry drive gets the same handling as one on a house. Call (210) 538‑6533, and tell us who’s managing the property so the crew knows who to meet.
Usually, yes. When there’s no room for trucks, the crew works the tree by hand and carries the pieces out. Pieces too heavy to carry can go to a crane-capable crew, which lifts them over the house. A photo of the gate and the side yard tells us which setup to bring.
Yes. The crew cuts the tree back in pieces, then lifts the last heavy sections straight up with rigging or a crane. That way nothing’s dragged across the paint. Photograph the car first, since your insurance company will want to see it.
Yes. If a tree’s got you blocked in, the first cuts open a way out for your car, and the rest of the tree follows. Tell us when you call if someone in the house needs to get to work or to a doctor.
Not while there’s lightning or wind strong enough to move the tree, because that puts the crew and your house at more risk. Call (210) 538‑6533 anyway, so you’re on the list and the crew can start as soon as it’s safe. Until then, keep everyone out from under it.
Wind loads a canopy like a sail, and the weakest point gives first, whether that’s a cracked union, a decayed trunk or soaked roots. Older trees with decay inside can look fine right up until the wind finds the weak spot. A tree with a split trunk, a dead top or a heavy lean is worth a free photo look before storm season.
